Best States for IT Jobs: Washington
Behold the Microsoft Effect! Thanks largely to the Redmond software giant, Washington state remains a great location for programmers and software engineers. Growth should continue in those job categories through 2016. But Microsoft isn’t the only large employer in the area: Nintendo and T-Mobile both have large presences in the Seattle area, and plenty of smaller startups are located there as well.
Despite its high cost of living, Seattle remains one of the best cities to be in if you’re writing code. The city has been recognized as a bastion of youth culture, and as one of the highest coffee-consuming cities in the world.
