Best States for IT Jobs: Colorado
Colorado’s central location and high altitude have made cities like Denver, Colorado Springs, and Boulder. Each makes an appearance on Business Week’s list of the top 30 cities for tech jobs, with Boulder checking in just behind Palo Alto, CA at number 2.
Satellite and cable firms such as Qwest, Comcast, and DISH generate plenty of demand for hardware and software developers in the Denver area, while large firms like IBM and HP create plenty of tech jobs in Boulder and Colorado Springs. In fact, the Bureau of labor statistics expects Colorado to add nearly 37,000 IT jobs by 2016 – a staggering growth rate of over 50%
