Blogging for Progress Scholarship

The Blogging for Progress Scholarship is available to students who are age 16 or older as of April 15, 2008, and will be attending a regionally or nationally accredited college, university or vocational school during the 2009 or 2010 calendar years. You must create a blog on the ProgressiveU website and write about current events, public policy, and issues affecting young people. Winners are based on total accumulated points as of April 15, 2008 with points awarded for each blog entry and comment accepted for posting to the website and for each read of a participants blog entries by members and visitors. Participants also have opportunities to earn bonus points towards the scholarship throughout the semester.
Contest begins February 15th, 2008 and runs through June 30, 2008. Users must be registered by April 15, 2008 in order to be eligible for this semester’s contest. Please visit the sponsor’s Web site for additional information and an explanation of the point system.

Betty Stevens-Frecknall Scholarship

The Betty Stevens-Frecknall Scholarship is open to full-time students who are pursuing information technology-related studies at an accredited degree program. Scholarship applications for the 2008-2009 academic year will be accepted via an online form January 1, 2008 through through May 31, 2008. Scholarship applicants must be student members of AITP.

A national scholarship, awarded annually, that supports university students seeking an education in an accredited degree program related to information technology. Exceptional service to fellow IT students/professionals plays a major role in the selection process for this scholarship. To be eligible, an applicant must be an active member of an AITP student chapter.
